It's Your Time To Volunteer And Shine

Are you ready to make a difference in your community? On Sunday 24 November, from 9am to 11am, Tamworth Town Hall will host the MyTRC Volunteer Connect Expo. This is a free event, that showcases the incredible volunteer opportunities available in the Tamworth region.

Whether you're passionate about protecting the environment, supporting healthcare initiatives, mentoring youth, or giving back through social services, this expo is the perfect opportunity to connect with local organisations and find your ideal volunteer role.

Tamworth Regional Council's Volunteer Services Officer Luke Macdonald believes volunteering is not only a positive initiative to be more involved in the community, but also offers intrinsic rewards.

"Volunteering is a great way to reconnect and give back to your community. It's a great chance to connect with like-minded people, share and learn new skills and leave a positive impact both internally and for your community".

Council hosts this event annually, and with positive growth seen from 2023, the event has been relocated to the Tamworth Town Hall in 2024, to accommodate more stallholders.

Event highlights Include:

  • Opportunity to meet representatives from over 20 local charities and community groups
  • Live panel discussions with volunteer groups sharing some of their stories
  • Learn how your time and talents can support projects in sectors like arts and culture, youth programs, aged care, community services and events and environmental conservation.
  • Discover the personal and professional benefits of volunteering, from building new skills to forming new connections

The MyTRC Volunteer Connect Expo is open to all ages, welcoming seasoned volunteers and those looking for opportunities to start their journey.
