From 27 to 31 May 2024, the International Telecommunication Union (ITU), the UN Agency for Digital Technologies, will hold three major events connecting digital technologies and sustainable development in Geneva, Switzerland. Full details can be found below.
ITU media accreditation for all events
All journalists, including those with valid UN badges, must register for ITU event accreditation. A single accreditation and badge to any event will cover all three events.
World Summit on the Information Society (WSIS)+20 Forum High Level Event
High-level participants from over 160 countries consider global efforts over the last two decades to connect technology and sustainable development. The outcome will inform the UN General Assembly WSIS+20 review scheduled for September 2025 to identify how WSIS can support the Global Digital Compact expected to be agreed as part of the Summit of the Future later this year.
AI Governance Day
AI for Good's first dedicated AI Governance Day brings government officials and the global AI community together to discuss how best to implement principled AI frameworks while ensuring that no country is left behind.
AI for Good Global Summit 2024
AI leaders and experts consider how artificial intelligence can support the UN Sustainable Development Goals. This event will feature innovations in generative AI, robotics, and brain-machine interfaces.
AI for Good Global Summit: Brain-Machine Interface press conference
ITU's AI for Good Global Summit will include a press conference to showcase mind-controlled exoskeletons and other brain-machine interface technology. The press event will take place from 13:00-14:00 CEST at CICG and remotely for accredited reporters. Registration for physical or remote participation with the press conference is required.
