The Joint Anti-Child Exploitation Team (JACET) have arrested and charged a woman with child exploitation offences in Darwin last week.
A search warrant was conducted earlier this month on a residence in Farrar, with multiple electronic devices being seized for analysis.
Further investigations resulted in a crime scene being declared at a residence in Johnson on Tuesday 22 October, with several exhibits being seized.
A 29-year-old woman was arrested and has since been charged with:
- Produce child abuse material x 5
- Gross indecency - child under 14
- Indecent touching/Act - child under 14
She has been remanded to appear in Darwin Local Court on 15 January 2025.
Superintendent Paul Morrissey said, "To view, possess or create child abuse material is a disgraceful crime, and NT Police and JACET will continue to target those who are involved in such offending. Our message is simple - you will be caught, and you will be prosecuted for engaging in these reprehensible crimes."
AFP Superintendent Greg Davis said the AFP and its partners worked tirelessly to protect children and bring to justice those who harmed them or sought to exploit them.
