Japan Invests in UNDP for Sustainable Development

New York-The Government of Japan has contributed USD 45.3 million to UNDP's Regular (Core) Resources for 2024. UNDP deeply appreciates Japan's substantial contribution, which shows Japan's unwavering commitment to multilateralism and the strong partnership between Japan and UNDP.

As the world grapples with increasingly complex challenges and crisis, Japan's flexible core support is critical for UNDPs ability to advance sustainable development globally, as envisioned in the UNDP Strategic Plan 2022-2025. The contribution will help to prevent crises and conflicts, sustain peace, protect human rights, and address the root causes of fragility in the context of human security.

Core resources from Japan and other partners form the foundation for UNDP's operations and enables the organization to deliver impactful initiatives and programmes globally that advance poverty eradication, gender equality and the overall 2030 Agenda and the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).
