This September, immerse yourself in the soul-stirring sounds of jazz at the historic Roughley House in Dural as it comes alive with the warm melodies of the 2024-2025 Jazz at The Pines season.

Set against the serene backdrop of towering pine trees, this much-loved event promises an afternoon of smooth live entertainment that will captivate music lovers and jazz aficionados alike.

Kicking off the new season is the vibrant Bridge City Jazz Band, whose lively crescendos and rhythmic beats will fill the air, making it the perfect way to shake off the winter blues and welcome the refreshing spirit of spring.

Attendees are invited to pack a picnic lunch or indulge in freshly baked cakes and warm beverages available from the canteen.

Organised by the Rotary Club of The Hills-Kellyville as part of the Orange Blossom Festival celebrations, Jazz at The Pines offers a unique blend of music, history, and community.

The event is set on the picturesque grounds of the Roughley House, a historic homestead built in 1865, and has become a cherished tradition for locals and visitors alike.

John Collignon from the Rotary Club of The Hills-Kellyville encourages jazz lovers from The Hills and further afar to come and enjoy Jazz in The Pines.

"Jazz at The Pines is an opportunity to enjoy some of Sydney's best Dixie and Traditional Jazz Bands in a relaxed outdoor setting. It will be a beautiful Sunday afternoon, as the pines around us fill with the notes of the Bridge City Jazz Band," he said.

The Rotary Club has organised tables and chairs so visitors can eat and drink whilst listening to the band.

"Tables and chairs are provided so you can enjoy the Jazz under the massive pines. All you need to bring is a picnic hamper and your drinks. Tea, coffee, and fresh homemade cakes are available for purchase and free conducted tours of the historic Roughley House are available," he added.

The annual event brings together jazz enthusiasts and Hills residents in the spirit of celebrating the coming of spring, community, and music.

Entry tickets cost $25 (adult) and $20 (concession). The funds raised go entirely to projects of The Hills-Kellyville Rotary Club.
