Perth CBD and Northbridge will be swinging to the sounds of the Perth International Jazz Festival thanks to support from the City of Perth.
Now in its ninth year, the festival will run over three days in November, starting on 5 November with a free event at the State Theatre Centre Courtyard.
Making their festival debut, via live stream, Amsterdam legends Tin Men and the Telephone will perform their greatest show, engaging with the crowd through a combination of jazz and technology. Performances will be streamed via the big screens at Yagan Square and Northbridge Piazza.
City of Perth, ECU WAAPA and Lotterywest have also partnered to present free performances in Forrest Place on the Saturday and Sunday, showcasing new commissions, big bands and panels.
Events will also be held in Northbridge Piazza, Cathedral Square, WA Museum Boola Bardip, The Rechabite and Alex Hotel.
"We are absolutely thrilled to be hosting the Perth International Jazz Festival in the City of Perth for the ninth year running," City of Perth Lord Mayor Basil Zempilas said.
"We're proud to support an international music event of the highest quality, where local artists and emerging talent can perform alongside the global leaders in jazz music."
"Perth International Jazz Festival is pleased to be partnering with the City of Perth to present its ninth annual event across the city and Northbridge in November," Perth International Jazz Festival Chair Mar Knox said.
"The City of Perth has been a Community Presenting Partner since the Festival was started by the late Graham Wood back in 2013.
"This year's festival is bigger and better than ever. We know everyone will love the program that has been put together, which includes new performance spaces and more free community events than ever before. It's a great pleasure to be hosting this family-friendly, safe and inclusive weekend of live music and we encourage everyone to come into the city and enjoy the best jazz that Perth has to offer."
