Jenny Emnus Receives ERC Synergy Grant

Technical University of Denmark

The number of age-associated neurodegenerative diseases such as Parkinson's and Huntington's are increasing due to longer lifespans. This emphasizes that the brain has a limited ability to regenerate.

Jenny Emnéus' project 'CUSTOM-MADE' (Custom-Made Neurons for Cell Therapy in Parkinson's and Huntington's Disease) aims to create tailored stem cell therapies for individual patients or subgroups with diseases such as Parkinson's and Huntington's. By combining stem cell research, genomics, and bioengineering, the project aims to design customized cell grafts that better meet each patient's needs than existing stem cell therapies.
