Officers from the Major Crash Investigation Squad are investigating an incident that occurred in Jerdacuttup yesterday, Tuesday 19 January 2021.
About 11.15am, a road work was deploying signage on the South Coast Highway (near Fence Road) when he was struck by a silver Renault van travelling west.
The 40-year-old male driver of the vehicle stopped and another road worker tried to render assistance to the man, but sadly the 57-year-old man died from his injuries.
Major Crash investigators are conducting an examination of the scene and speaking to the involved driver.
Major Crash investigators would like to speak to any person who passed through the area or observed the road workers or silver Renault prior to the crash.
