Jetstar Cairns-Newcastle Flights Back in 2025

Tuesday, 26 November 2024: Jetstar will offer more than 18,000 low fares seats a year with the resumption of its popular seasonal service between Cairns and Newcastle next year.

From 2 July to 24 October 2025, three flights a week will take off between the two cities using the airline's A320 aircraft, supporting tourism across both destinations.

The relaunch of the seasonal service is in partnership with Newcastle Airport and follows strong demand during previous seasons.

To celebrate the relaunch, Jetstar is offering one-way fares between the two destinations from $109 at jetstar.com.

Jetstar's Executive Manager, Customer, Jenn Armor said it's great to be providing more low fares between the two destinations.

"These are the only direct flights between Cairns and Newcastle, allowing customers in the south to escape up to tropical weather in winter, while giving residents of Far North Queensland easy access to the Hunter Valley wine region.

"To celebrate the relaunch of this popular seasonal service, we're offering one-way fares between the two destinations from just $109 at jetstar.com. We thank Newcastle Airport for supporting the route, allowing our customers to take off more with low fares."

Newcastle Airport CEO Dr. Peter Cock:

"We are working hard to provide the people of the Hunter with more travel options and are proud this popular route with Jetstar is one of the first to be announced."
