Friday, 31 May 2024: From 2 September 2024, Jetstar domestic flights will shift to Terminal 2 at Perth Airport, joining the carrier's international flights in the Airport Central precinct and a providing quicker and more convenient journey between its services for customers.
Currently Jetstar's domestic flights operate from Terminal 3 at Perth Airport with customers required to take an airport shuttle bus to connect to its international flights in Terminal 1, adding up to 40 minutes to the transit time.
The change means customers will be able to walk between the carrier's domestic and international flights in Terminals 1 and 2 and more easily connect to central Perth via the underground airport rail station.
The move will allow Jetstar to unlock efficiencies and further growth opportunities, ahead of a major expansion of low fares flying to and from WA, as the Qantas Group realises its vision for a Western Hub.
From August, the airline is opening a new pilot and aircraft base in Perth and launching direct flights from Perth to Singapore and Phuket. From September, flights will begin between Perth and Bangkok.
At least 60 pilots and four of the newest aircraft in its fleet - the Airbus A321neo LR - will be based in Perth, with the possibility of more domestic and intra-WA flights in future.
