The Executive Boards of Eindhoven University of Technology and Tilburg University have appointed Jos van Hillegersberg as academic director of the Jheronimus Academy of Data Science (JADS) as of March 1, 2022. This is a new position. Jos van Hillegersberg will be the scientific figurehead for JADS and will liaise with Tilburg University and Eindhoven University. He will also play a principal role in the further contribution of JADS to the regional ecosystem.
Jos van Hillegersberg (1968) is professor of Business Information Systems and Chair of the High-Tech Business and Entrepreneurship Department at the University of Twente, where he is responsible for the department's research program. His research interests include the logistics, healthcare, and service sectors. Over the past year, Jos was already a member of the accreditation panel of JADS 's-Hertogenbosch for the educational visitation and is thus well acquainted with this unique academy.
New position
In his new function, Van Hillegersberg will further position JADS as a scientific center of expertise in the field of value creation, business, and entrepreneurship based on data science. He will liaise closely with the parent institutions, Eindhoven University of Technology and Tilburg University, and the founding partners, the City of 's-Hertogenbosch and the Province of North Brabant.
