Education Minister Dr Tony Buti has officially opened new facilities at Joseph Banks Secondary College, allowing students to reach new heights with their STEM education.
The State Government has allocated $21 million to Joseph Banks Secondary College for a new specialist classroom building.
The new classroom building features a purpose-built space centre including a mission control lab and telescope deck.
In addition to the space centre, the new state-of-the-art building also includes general classrooms, science labs, IT labs, student services area, and a medical room.
Joseph Banks Secondary College has developed a strong STEM and science focus. The college provides a range of programs and opportunities for students to get involved in science, mining, and resources.
The new classroom block was completed in August 2023, and work continues on the fit-out for the landmark lunar landscape which will be completed in September 2024.
Project is part of the WA Labor Government's record $4.4 billion investment in new and improved school infrastructure across the State.
