Several secretly recorded phone calls between Gladys Berejiklian and her ex-boyfriend Daryl Maguire were played as the corruption watchdog investigates whether the former premier breached public trust due to the undeclared relationship with disgraced Wagga Wagga MP.
ICAC phone taps so far suggest the ex-boyfriend had remarkably fast access to public money.
In one, she can be heard saying "I just got you $170 million in five minutes", for a hospital in Maguire's region.
The conversation is about Maguire complaining that the Wagga Wagga hospital in his electorate hadn’t been allocated $170 million in the state budget, Berejiklian replies: “I’ll deal with it. I’ll fix it. I’ll fix it.”
Within two hours, she called Maguire with news about a conversation with Dominic Perrottet.
"I just spoke to Dom and I said just put 140 (million dollars) in the budget. And he said no worries, he just does what I ask him to," Berejiklian said.
There was another interesting episode where Berejiklian temporarily held off sacking a public servant as per Maguire's request:
Maguire: I had, what's his name, some senior....
Berejiklian: I can't stand that guy, he'll be gone soon.
Maguire: Not until he fixes my conservatorium...
Berejiklian: Ok good tell him to fix it and then after he fixes it I'm sacking him
