Health Minister Roger Cook visited Kalgoorlie today and urged eligible Goldfields locals to get vaccinated against COVID-19 as soon as possible.
The Minister visited the State-run COVID-19 clinic based at Kalgoorlie Hospital, which is run by the WA Country Health Service (WACHS). This clinic also provides outreach vaccination services in Norseman, Kambalda and Esperance.
In the Goldfields, 49 per cent of eligible residents have received their first dose of a COVID-19 vaccine.
On Friday, October 8, a one-day COVID-19 vaccination clinic will run in conjunction with a local football carnival in Kalgoorlie. Bega Garnbirringu Health Service is leading this clinic, with support from WACHS.
Work is underway with the Commonwealth to support vaccination efforts for remote communities in the northern Goldfields, and further logistical assistance is being sought through the Commonwealth-funded Royal Flying Doctor Service.
WA Health State-run COVID-19 vaccination clinics are available in more than 100 locations across Western Australia, with sites listed on the HealthyWA website.
Everyone aged 12 years and over is eligible for a COVID-19 vaccination. People can visit https://rollup.wa.gov.au/to register and book their vaccination appointments.
COVID-19 vaccinations are also provided by a range of GPs, GP respiratory clinics and pharmacies across the State. People are encouraged to speak to their local health care provider to find out more.
More than 1 million Western Australians have now received two doses of a COVID-19 vaccine.

"This is your opportunity to do your bit to protect yourself, your loved ones and your community.
"For those coming along to the footy carnival on Friday, that will be a great chance to get vaccinated.
"Having convenient opportunities like these for regional people to get vaccinated is extremely important."
