Kamay Botany Bay Park Kurnell Closed for Christmas

The NSW National Parks and Wildlife Service (NPWS) advises residents in Sydney's south that several areas in Kamay Botany Bay National Park will be closed during the Christmas period due to ongoing works.

As a part of the Kamay 2020 Project, work is currently underway in the Kurnell precinct of Kamay Botany Bay National Park which will improve the way members of the public can use the area.

This includes:

  • The old Kurnell Visitor Centre has been demolished, with construction of a new Visitor Centre set to commence soon,
  • Works at the Cricket Pitch Precinct including new toilets and upgraded car park.

Due to these works, car parks and toilets at the old Visitor Centre and Cricket Pitch are currently closed. There is also significantly reduced car parks available in the area, and only one set of toilets is open at Commemoration Flat.

NPWS is asking the public to please consider these works if planning a visit to Kamay Botany Bay National Park during the summer period.

For a scenic Christmas Day picnic, NPWS encourages people to explore the La Perouse area in Kamay Botany Bay National Park, located on the opposite side of Botany Bay. Pack your favourite holiday treats and head to the stunning Congwong Beach for an unforgettable day by the water.
