Kerb and channel

Council has committed $2.5 million to ensuring the city's 1705-kilometres of kerb and channel are properly maintained.

The annual Kerb and Channel and Shoulder Sealing Renewal Program primarily involves the renewal of damaged kerb and channel assets that are no longer meeting community expectations, and through deterioration may be contributing to water ponding and unwanted weed growth.

The program also allows for the new kerb and channelling, as well as improvements to unsealed road shoulders.

Individual sites requiring renewal are identified through regular asset inspection programs and customer requests received through Council's CRM system, and are assessed against a set of management criteria.
