Residents are encouraged to provide feedback on Shellharbour City Council's combined draft Delivery Program 2022-2026 and Operational Plan 2024-2025, and draft Rates Policy 2024-2025.
These documents are part of the Integrated Planning and Reporting (IP&R) Framework and set out Council's planned actions and associated budget for the 2024/25 financial year.
They outline how Council will deliver the expectations of the community in alignment with the Community Strategic Plan (CSP) and details the current and future plans for Council's key service areas, operational functions and capital works program.
In 2024/25, Council is proposing to deliver $58.9 million in capital works including:
- $12.9 million on buildings and aquatic facilities
- $2.2 million on business units (including Shell Cove, Airport, Holiday Park and The Links)
- $9 million on open spaces (including play, fitness equipment, parkland and sporting facilities)
- $2.7 million on plant equipment and other assets
- $28 million on transport (including roads and footpaths)
- $3.4 million on stormwater management
- $700,000 on waste management
Shellharbour City Mayor Chris Homer said the combined draft documents were designed to meet current needs, while anticipating and addressing future challenges.
"The diverse set of actions detailed in the draft suite of documents demonstrates that Council remains adaptable and able to provide high service levels, even when faced with uncertain times," Mayor Homer said.
"This adaptive approach helps us deliver a broad range of projects in collaboration with state and federal governments to secure funding opportunities beyond our annual budget.
"With a focus on key projects such as the Tripoli Way bypass and the Shell Cove Sportsfields, Council will continue to deliver on key projects for the betterment of the community.
"Our commitment to working hand-in-hand with the community to deliver projects and activities in line with the Community Strategic Plan is strong," he said.
