With the appointment of award-winning local ACT builder, Monarch Building Solutions, the extension of Keyton's The Grove Ngunnawal community enters an exciting new stage as work begins on expanding the village from 161 villas to a 206-villa precinct.
According to Keyton's Head of Development Jason Fitzgerald, the company are proud to have a local builder appointed to deliver the Gold Creek extension at The Grove.
"Monarch have delivered numerous quality projects throughout Canberra, and we look forward to partnering with them to deliver The Grove extension," Mr Fitzgerald said.
The Grove is one of Keyton's three communities in the ACT, all of which have extensive waitlists, and Fitzgerald said the new extension will not only revitalise the community with new villas and amenities but will add much needed retirement living capacity to the nation's capital.
Keyton has had strong demand following the first stage release of the extension, featuring 15 (of the final 45) light-filled single level two and three-bedroom villas now released to their waitlist.
Each villa is equipped with internal garage access as well as undercover alfresco areas making them ideal for entertaining. The villas have been designed with premium internal finishes including timber hybrid floors and solar power all coming as standard.
A highlight of the extension will see Keyton restore and repurpose original elements of the historical Gold Creek Homestead, converting it into a multi-purpose space with an arts and craft studio amongst its extensive grounds.
According to Keyton Chief Executive Officer, Nathan Cockerill, The Grove offers a deep sense of community and a lifestyle focused on safety, security, and wellbeing.
Importantly, the expansion to The Grove sets a high standard on the sustainability front with Keyton not only committed to delivering a 5-star Greenstar Community Precinct but also a minimum 7-star NatHERS rating, delivering a higher level of energy efficiency and reduction in energy cost for residents.
Double glazing to windows ensures warmth throughout the chilly months while a heat pump hot water system minimises energy use for water heating by up to 75 per cent.
All villas feature rainwater harvesting systems, significantly reducing potable water usage while offering cost savings on water bills.
For Mr Cockerill, the two ratings reflect Keyton's ongoing commitment to sustainability, ensuring every community responds to its local environment and brings people together in ways that strengthen their sense of belonging and pride. "With more Australians recognising the value of living in a sustainable home and community, demand is growing for retirement living options that deliver greater resilience, efficiencies and value for residents while at the same time protecting the environment for future generations," Mr Cockerill said.
Moreover, new residents in the extended village will continue to have access to The Grove's program of wellbeing events that continues to expand as well as state-of-the-art facilities including a clubhouse featuring an indoor heated pool, modern gym and onsite hairdresser.
Another exciting feature for residents will be The Grove's new and expanded Farmers Garden, bursting with homegrown goodness including an assortment of fruit trees and vegetables. Adding to the charm will be a greenhouse where residents can nurture young plants and work together on ensuring an abundance of greenery year-round.
"It's a place that exemplifies the Keyton difference reflecting our ongoing commitment to delivering exceptional lifestyle communities where residents can live healthier, happier more connected lives," Mr Cockerill said.
