KICK OFF YOUR DANCING SHOES: Manly Jazz announces an exciting in-venue program and Director's Choice concert.
Manly Jazz festival is back in 2022 with a cool, hot and sweet line-up curated especially to extend the free public program for jazz fans.
Featuring a range of sounds to suits all ears, the 2022 program is bound to have people dancing in the streets, bars and dining rooms of Manly this Spring.
Following a wonderful program of free live music being staged on Manly Corso and the surrounding laneways, local venues will keep the party alive by throwing open their doors to present a program of in-venue performances, curated by the Artistic Director.
Manly Jazz has collaborated with a host of wonderful food and beverage venues in and around Manly, who'll all present their own jazz artists inside their venues, after the live music on the main stage finishes at 6.00pm.
Highlights from the in-venue program happening across the weekend include; Nick Russoniello: One Man Band Show at Bar Tropic from 5-7pm; Jazz and Shiraz at Manly Pavilion from 6.00pm-10pm on and Cope Street Parade at Hotel Steyne 7.30-10.30pm to name just a few. Tickets are now on sale for the Director's Choice big band jazz concert led by John Morrisson. Presented from 7:30pm to 9:45pm on Sunday evening 25 September, attendees will enjoy the hits of the hits of Count Basie, Glenn Miller, Benny Goodman, Gene Krupa, Frank Sinatra and Ella Fitzgerald performed by a big Swing Jazz Band featuring some of the best musicians in Australia with the fabulous vocalists Jacki Cooper and Gregg Arthur. The founder of Swing City - drummer and band leader John Morrison will ensure jazz fans are overflowing with jazz after this knock out concert at Star of the Sea, Stella Maris College. Northern Beaches Council Mayor Michael Regan said after two years of Covid he is very pleased to see Manly Jazz Festival back in venues, on stages and in the streets of Manly.
"This is a great time to support local businesses who are hosting jazz artist inside the venues. When the music stops on the Corso, there's every reason to continue the fun while eating and drinking at our local bars, clubs, restaurants and other venues."
