Kid Reporters From Rio De Janeiro Cover Youth 20 Summit

The G20 Social engagement group that represents the youth of the world's largest economies held its Summit in Rio de Janeiro. Among the press agencies present at the coverage were Team F, a school journalism team from the Finland Municipal School, and Jurema News, a school journalism team from the Technological Educational Gymnasium Jurema Peçanha Giraud.

August 12th was International Youth Day and in the G20 calendar this was the date chosen by Youth 20 for the start of its Summit in the city of Rio de Janeiro. The G20 youth engagement group held its opening ceremony at the Municipal Theater in the capital of Rio de Janeiro, with the sounds of funk, slam and samba, passinho rhythms, typical manifestations of Rio de Janeiro, providing the soundtrack for the start of the Summit.

And what more interesting proposal could there be than for young reporters to be in charge of covering a youth event? That's why the school journalism teams from the Finland Municipal School, Team F, and from the Technological Educational Gymnasium Jurema Peçanha Giraud, Jurema News, were present at the opening. The students had the opportunity to interview the Brazilian delegates and also the Emperors of Dance, that presented the passinho dance to the international delegations. The passinho dance is recognized as Intangible Cultural Heritage of Rio. Watch the productions:

Under the coordination of the Agency of Public School Students from the city of Rio de Janeiro (Andar), a project developed by the Municipal Education Secretariat of Rio de Janeiro, Team F and Jurema News are partners of the Kids 20.
