A major project to upgrade the amenities building at Kingsgrove Avenue Reserve is now officially complete, with improved facilities for sporting participants and the community.
The project focused on improvements to activate the park and create a safe and accessible environment for the community with the demolition of an existing canteen and storeroom and construction of a new amenities building with public toilets and baby change facilities, including an accessible toilet and an external hand wash and bubbler station.
The upgrade also delivered a referee/first aid room, sports club meeting room, canteen and uniform/storage room, making the reserve fully equipped to cater for the needs of local sporting clubs and participants.
Bayside Councillors and local community sport representatives and participants attended the Bexley North FC Presentation Day on Saturday 19 October to celebrate the completion of the project and officially welcome the community to the revitalised space.
Council contributed $2.35 million towards this project, and received $150,000 of grant funding from the NSW Government NSW Football Legacy Fund.
Mayor McDougall said:
"Council is delighted to be able to deliver state-of-the-art facilities to the community to support our local sporting participants.
"This project will enhance the experience of the community that use the Kingsgrove Avenue Reserve, not only the sporting clubs but also the broader community.
