Kingston Calls for Public Input on Kingswood Plans

Kingston is encouraging the community to provide feedback on the latest development plans for the former Kingswood Golf Course site in Dingley Village.

The Victorian Government has released the draft plans for public consultation, with residents invited to have their say by 5pm on Thursday 17 April. Having rezoned the land in 2023 to provide for housing, the Victorian Government is the decision maker on the Development Plans for the site.

Kingston Mayor Cr Georgina Oxley urged community members to review the plans and share their views on the future of the site.

"We know this project has been of strong interest to our community, and it's important that residents take this opportunity to provide feedback," Cr Oxley said.

"While Council is not the decision maker, we are committed to ensuring our community is informed and that their voices are heard."

The plans, available at engage.vic.gov.au/kingswood, outline key details for the site's development, including housing layouts, open space provisions, and infrastructure planning. Hard copies of the plans can also be viewed at Dingley Village Library.

A community information session hosted by the site owner, Satterley, will be held at Harold Box Hall (next to the Dingley Village Library) on Thursday 3 April, from 4pm to 8.30pm, where residents can drop in to view the plans and speak with the developer.

"Council is carefully reviewing the plans and will be making a submission to the State Government," Cr Oxley said.

"We have also written to the Victorian Planning Minister requesting genuine engagement with the community and adequate time for proper assessment of the plans."

Kingston Council has sent an update to all homes and businesses in Dingley Village to ensure the community is aware of the consultation process.

"We strongly encourage residents to review the plans, attend the information session, and lodge a submission before the deadline," Cr Oxley said.

"Your feedback will help shape the future of Dingley Village."

Submissions can be made online at engage.vic.gov.au/kingswood until 5pm on Thursday 17 April.
