Kingston Pushes Rossdale Golf for Key Eco Audit

Kingston Council remains committed to ensuring that future decisions regarding Rossdale Golf Course are guided by independent environmental assessments.

Last week, the club permitted our arborist to enter the site, allowing an important first step in the environmental assessment process.

However, this week they denied entry to our experts.

The club has stated that they do not agree that Council has the legal authority to enter the site.

Kingston Mayor Georgina Oxley expressed disappointment and concern over the club's stance, stressing the urgency of completing the assessment before the bird migration season.

"We are deeply concerned that further delays to this assessment could mean missing critical environmental data, particularly during the important international bird migration season," Cr Oxley said.

"The club previously allowed our arborist access, and we call on the club to do the right thing and allow our experts to continue this vital work."

Council has successfully undertaken similar environmental assessments at other locations, such as the Kingswood Golf Course in Dingley Village, to ensure that important environmental factors are considered in future planning decisions.

Kingston Council remains open to working collaboratively with the club to minimise any disruption to its members and activities while ensuring this crucial assessment is completed.
