Kite Magnetics Expands With New Manufacturing Hub

Monash University

Monash University spinout Kite Magnetics is setting up a state-of-the-art facility to manufacture cutting-edge technology that will shape the future of the automotive, transport, and mining industries.

Minister for Economic Growth and Jobs, Danny Pearson, announced the new facility that will focus on the development and production of Kite Magnetics' ultra-energy-efficient generators and engines, powered by the company's exclusive Aeroperm® technology. This advanced material enables the creation of lighter, smaller, and more efficient electric generators and engines.

With its anticipated location in Melbourne's hub for innovation, the Monash Technology Precinct, the facility will create opportunities in materials science and automation, strengthening Australia's competitive edge in advanced manufacturing - which draws on smart technology, robotics, and new materials to improve the quality, speed, and efficiency of producing next-generation products.

"Aeroperm® is accelerating electrification with smaller, lighter, and more efficient motors—driving down EV costs and extending the range of electric aircraft. Developed in Victoria, this breakthrough is set to transform industries worldwide," says Dr Richard Parsons, Founder and CEO of Kite Magnetics.

"Kite Magnetics showcases Monash University's expertise in developing advanced technologies and our commitment to transforming this groundbreaking research into real-world solutions through collaboration, research translation, and commercialisation," says Dr Alastair Hick, Chief Commercialisation Officer at Monash University.
