Labor Pledges $4.5M for Inner West Services Boost

Labor Party

A re-elected Albanese Labor Government will deliver $4.5 million to support the critical work of the St Vincent De Paul Society and Leichhardt Women's Community Health Centre in Sydney's Inner West.

This election commitment will provide $2.43 million to the St Vincent De Paul Society to deliver additional crisis and transitional accommodation used by women fleeing domestic and family violence.

It will also support upgrades to existing accommodation to ensure it remains modern and fit for purpose.

The St Vincent de Paul Society is renowned for the support it provides to people living in poverty or seeking assistance through more than 200 programs and services across Australia.

An additional $2.07 million will be invested in the Leichhardt Women's Community Health Centre to redesign and upgrade its facilities, including the provision of more counselling rooms.

The Leichhardt Women's Community Health Centre has been supporting the Inner West community for more than 50 years.

It provides health services, support and education to marginalised and financially disadvantaged women, including those experiencing domestic violence.

This investment builds on $1.2 billion the Albanese Labor Government has already delivered to support Australians in crisis and transitional accommodation in our first term.

Consistent with past practice, election commitments will be delivered in line with the Commonwealth Grants Rules and Principles.
