Labor's Hypocrisy On Managing Taxpayers Money

Michael Ferguson, Treasurer

In Labor's 2024 election "costings" it claims a return to surplus by 2026-27, which actually means $2 billion in cruel cuts. What's more, Labor's fantasy financial statement was a fiction built on uncosted election policy though bubbles that were closer to $4 billion in new spending.

Labor's attempts to fool Tasmanians over their dodgy costings are galling and need to be called out.

If Labor's figures could even be taken seriously, Tasmanians would be bracing for savage cuts to services, along with massive tax increases.

We all know when Labor runs out of money they come after yours.

Only the Tasmanian Liberal Government's 2030 Strong Plan for Tasmania's Future will ensure the stability, certainty, and sound economic management Tasmania needs right now.
