Victorians continue to pay the price for the shambolic mismanagement of the Melbourne Airport Rail by the Allan and Albanese Labor Governments.
For three years, the Victorian Labor Government has engaged in a petty standoff with Melbourne Airport, dragging the project behind schedule and opening the door to millions of dollars in cost blowouts.
Despite promising to appoint a mediator in November last year to solve the State Government's dispute, Federal Minister for Transport, Catherine King, has still failed to do so.
Because of this inaction, early works and contract negotiations have not restarted on the project after being paused for last year's Commonwealth Infrastructure Review, leaving the project in limbo and Victorians without any answers on its future.
Shadow Minister for Transport Infrastructure, David Southwick, said: "Every extra day this project blows out is another day Victorians pay the price for Labor's mismanagement.
"Jacinta Allan and Danny Pearson are too busy picking a fight with Melbourne Airport, when they should be getting on with the job and delivering for Victorians.
"Because of pettiness and inaction, State and Federal Labor are failing Victorians when it comes to the Airport Rail."
