About 2.20pm, Department of Fire and Emergency Services and Police were called to a bushfire in the area of Great Eastern Highway near Carter Road.
The fire has burnt over 700 hectares of bushland and one home was destroyed.
The cause of the fire has been deemed undetermined and Strike Force Vulcan officers, wish to speak to anyone who saw any activity, persons, or vehicles in the vicinity of the fire on 1 January 2025.
