Lambies Threaten Supply, Heighten Instability

Tas Labor

As if declaring intentions to tear up their coalition deal with the Liberals wasn't destabilising enough, the Lambies have gone one step further today by threatening budget supply.

In a direct breach of the coalition deal the Lambies signed with the Liberals - which is the only thing holding this government together - the Lambies have told The Australian that their guarantee of supply didn't cover every budget item, essentially threatening to veto the budget.

Jeremy Rockliff warned Tasmanians that chaos in the parliament would lead to chaos in the economy - and his predictions are coming true.

Since Premier Rockliff's leadership sent his government into minority, Tasmania has already shed 5,000 jobs, the economy is flatlining and Tasmanians are leaving the state in record numbers for better opportunities elsewhere.

Labor stands for safe, secure and well-paid jobs.

To create more of these, we need a stable government, but now the Lambies are threatening to veto the budget, the Liberal-Lambie coalition deal is on shakier ground than ever.
