Officers from the Major Crash Investigation Section are seeking information regarding a fatal crash in Lancelin yesterday, Friday 2 June 2023.
About 6:40pm, a red Mitsubishi Lancer coupe was being driven south on Indian Ocean Drive. At the same time a white Toyota Hilux utility was being driven north on the same road. The two vehicles collided with each other at the intersection of Lancelin Road.
The 24-year-old male driver of the Mitsubishi was taken to Royal Perth Hospital for treatment of critical injuries he received in the crash. A 23-year-old male passenger in the Mitsubishi died from his injuries at the scene. A further two adult passengers from the Mitsubishi sustained serious injuries in the crash and were conveyed to Joondalup Health Campus and Royal Perth Hospital for treatment.
A 29-year-old male driver of the Toyota Hilux and his two adult passengers sustained minor injuries.
