Australians will get a glimpse into the decades-long dedication to save the critically endangered Northern Hairy-nosed Wombat during Sunday's (2 March) episode of ABC's Landline.
Reporter Tobias Loftus travelled out to Richard Underwood Nature Refuge, where ecologist Andy Howe discussed AWC's recent research efforts to better understand the needs of the species.

Hair and scat surveys as well as the use of ground penetrating radar, were among the topics of discussion, along with recent results from motion sensor cameras, and more.
The Wombat Foundation will also feature in the segment, discussing the deployment of collars to monitor wombats, while Queensland Government's Dave Harper will cover the recent translocation of the species to Powrunna State Forest.
The Landline episode featuring the Northern Hairy-nosed Wombat will air on ABC TV on 2 March 2025 at 12.30pm. It will also be available to stream via ABC iView, here: Landline : ABC iview
