Swedish institutions will benefit from a comprehensive OA transformative agreement that will accelerate open access publishing and extend access to high quality research
IOP Publishing (IOPP) has struck a new open access (OA) transformative agreement with Swedish consortium, Bibsam.
Under the terms of this new three-year read and publish agreement, Bibsam's member institutions will benefit from:
- Unlimited OA publishing with no article publication charges for authors in all IOPP hybrid, fully gold and eligible partner journals
- Publishing under an open licence (CC-BY), allowing authors to retain copyright
- Reading access to all IOPP and eligible partner subscription journals for affiliated students, faculty and researchers
The Bibsam consortium is operated by Kungliga Biblioteket, the National Library of Sweden. Its member institutions include universities, university colleges and government funded research institutions.
Steven Hall, managing director, IOP Publishing said: "We're delighted to be continuing our collaboration with Bibsam. Reaching this agreement will expand the reach of Swedish research and increase the demand for OA publishing by making the process as simple as possible for authors."
Anna Lundén, head of Division, National Library of Sweden said: "We are very pleased with this new agreement between IOP Publishing and participating organisations within the Bibsam Consortium. It will not only give the Swedish researchers access to all IOP Publishing journals content, but also the right to publish all research articles Open Access without any additional charges."
