Ambulance Victoria (AV) has officially opened the doors of its new Langwarrin Ambulance Branch, providing local crews with state-of-the-art facilities.
AV Interim Chief Executive Office Andrew Crisp today joined Member for Hastings Paul Mercurio MP and Member for Frankston Paul Edbrooke MP to open the new multi-million-dollar facility on McClelland Drive, Langwarrin.
The new 24-hour ambulance branch includes a four-bay garage for ambulances, four rest and recline areas, training facilities, a fully equipped kitchen and improved security and car parking.
The Langwarrin Ambulance Branch provides local crews with state-of-the-art facilities.
The branch replaced an old branch on Warrandyte Road in Langwarrin that was built in 1970 and at the time was one the smallest in the metropolitan region.
"The bigger and better branch has been custom-built with the modern and safe facilities paramedics need to do their job and respond to life-threatening cases in the community," Mr Crisp said.
"It's great to see this growing area in Melbourne's southeast receive such a welcome upgrade that will service the community well into the future.
"Our new, prime location allows ease of access to main roads and major sites including schools, shopping precincts and community facilities, Frankston Hospital and Peninsula Link - and that means better health outcomes for patients.
"This gives local paramedics a safe and modern home-base they can truly be proud of."
The new Langwarrin Ambulance Branch is home to 39 paramedics and has been operational since 29 April 2024.

Alongside the Langwarrin Ambulance Unit, the new branch also houses the Frankston Ambulance Unit, the Baxter Ambulance Unit and a Mobile Intensive Care Ambulance (MICA) single officer response unit.
The Langwarrin team attends more than 600 emergency call outs a month, covering the Frankston Local Government Area and beyond.
The branch was funded by the Victorian Government's Ambulance Victoria Development Program and delivered by the Victorian Health Building Authority (VHBA) in partnership with AV, and builder, May Constructions.
In 2023-24, eleven stations were completed: Inglewood, Gisborne, Rochester, Clyde North, Avoca, Paynesville, Oak Park, Yuroke, Langwarrin, Epping and Morwell.
