Minister for Defence Industry and Capability Delivery, the Hon Pat Conroy MP, will represent Australia at the 11th Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN) Defence Ministers' Meeting Plus (ADMM-Plus) in Laos this week.
Minister Conroy will participate in the ADMM-Plus plenary and meet with ASEAN and regional partners.
The ADMM-Plus is the region's premier defence dialogue, bringing together the 10 ASEAN nations, ASEAN's eight dialogue partners and Timor-Leste.
This year marks the 50th anniversary of Australia's partnership with ASEAN, with Minister Conroy set to co-host a commemorative ceremony to mark the milestone.
As ASEAN's first dialogue partner, Australia remains committed to working with ASEAN to maintain peace, stability and prosperity in the Indo-Pacific region, with ASEAN at its centre.
