Large amount of cash located in vehicle, man charged - Smeaton Grange

A man has been charged after $230,000 was allegedly located in his car during a vehicle stop in Sydney's south west.

About 10.40am yesterday (Wednesday 5 June 2019), officers from Camden Proactive Crime Team pulled over a Mitsubishi Lancer on Hartley Road, Smeaton Grange.

Police spoke to the 45-year-old male driver and developed reasonable cause to search the vehicle. During the search, officers allegedly located $230,950 in cash.

Police allege the cash is proceeds of crime.

The man was arrested at taken to Narellan Police Station where he was charged with deal with proceeds of crime, and two counts of goods in custody.

He was conditionally bailed to appear at Picton Local Court on Tuesday 9 July 2019.
