Large Scale Theft Of New Cars In Port Melbourne

Melbourne Crime Investigation Unit detectives are investigating after 45 brand new vehicles were stolen from a caryard in Port Melbourne over the weekend.

It's believed the thefts took place at the Salmon Street business between 3pm Sunday 20 October and around 6.30am Monday 21 October.

It's believed unknown offenders have forced entry to the car yard and have stolen up to 45 brand new unregistered vehicles.

Three vehicles have since been recovered in surrounding streets and a 42-year-old Prahran woman was arrested in Broadmeadows today and is in custody being interviewed.
