Largest Australian film festival comes to Euroa

Despite current Victorian restrictions, Council is crossing its fingers that the event will go ahead as planned on September 17-19.

A part of the annual St Kilda Film Festival, the Victorian Tour sees the best films of the festival screened at different locations across the state.

This is the first time Strathbogie Shire Council has been selected to host a leg of the tour.

Strathbogie Shire Council Mayor Cr Chris Raeburn said it was exciting to be selected.

"We just hope that this exciting event can go ahead in what has been an incredibly uncertain time for our community.

"It is important to continue to offer opportunities to connect despite the ongoing challenges of COVID-19."

The event will begin with a Grand Opening evening on Friday September 17 from 7pm where guests will receive a drink on arrival.

This will be followed by two screenings on both Saturday September 18 and Sunday September 19. These include:

  • Saturday: Award Winners (4pm), Directors Choice (8pm)
  • Sunday: Directors Choice (4pm), Award Winners (8pm)

"Our opening night event will feature a red carpet and drinks are being served by Longwood-based winery Maygar's Hill," Cr Raeburn said.

All screenings will be held at the Euroa Community Cinema, Bury St, Euroa and will be subject to COVID restrictions.

Please keep an eye out on Facebook for further event information.
