For the month of September (i.e. Biodiversity Month), we've partnered with several of our neighbouring councils to see who can record the most species as part of the Biodiversity Blitz 2024.
To participate, simply head outdoors to snap photos of flora and fauna in Bayside and then upload them to the iNaturalist app.
The iNaturalist app is easy to use and there's a community within the app that can help you identify your observations.
How to join:
1. Download the free iNaturalist app and register.
2. Join the Biodiversity Blitz 2024- Bayside City Council Project.
3. Start recording your observations up until the end of September.
Contribute to community science and show the world the amazing biodiversity Bayside has to offer! It's a great way to learn about local plants and animals and get involved in local conservation.
Remember to please respect our plants and wildlife when taking photos and be safe when venturing out into natural areas with uneven terrain.
