Latest IAG update on ex-Tropical Cyclone Alfred
IAG teams' are on the ground supporting communities recovering from ex-Tropical Cyclone Alfred.

IAG, whose brands include NRMA Insurance, CGU, WFI and ROLLiN', has Major Event Specialist teams on the ground providing face to face support and progressing repairs for customers and communities in South East Queensland and Northern NSW impacted by ex-Tropical Cyclone Alfred.
As of 7am Tuesday 18 March, IAG had received approximately 7,890 claims across its brands. Most of the claims lodged are for property damage due to severe winds, fallen trees impacting properties and intense rainwater entering homes through roofs and around window frames.
Around a third of property claims are for food spoilage, with customers able to receive instant financial support to re-stock their food supplies.
NRMA Insurance Executive General Manager Claims Luke Gallagher said IAG's specialist teams are focused on supporting the many affected customers across the region.
"As soon as there was a gap in the weather when the storm hit on Saturday 8 March, our assessors and partner repairers have been supporting thousands of impacted customers in South East Queensland and Northern New South Wales. This included arranging emergency make-safe repairs to prevent further wind and water damage to properties, temporary accommodation and emergency financial support.
"We use Make-Safe tarping to secure customers' homes. This product is superior to a traditional tarp. It won't tear and flap around in the wind, which prevents further water damage to a home.
In addition to arranging immediate claims wherever possible for things like food spoilage, we are here scoping the damage to customers' homes so we can begin the repair and rebuild process as quickly as possible.Luke Gallagher

IAG's Claims personnel have also been deployed to 10 locations in Queensland and NSW, including three NRMA Insurance pop-up hubs, that have been established to support our customers in those areas most impacted.

Luke Gallagher emphasised the priority is to get our customers back on their feet as soon as possible: "Our teams are speaking with customers every day about their claims and repairs, and the range of support options we have immediately available to help them."
"We are here to help and encourage our customers to visit us at one of the three Bunnings locations or Community Recovery Hubs nearest to them for help claims lodging their claims.
