Riverina Highway has reopened to light vehicles under alternating (stop/slow) traffic conditions at Coreen, after being closed due to flooding.
Bridge work is taking place on the highway at Wangamong Creek and a reduced speed limit of 40km/h is in place.
This section of the highway remains closed to heavy vehicles, which are being diverted.
Other major regional roads remain closed due to flooding, including:
- The Kamilaroi Highway is closed east of Bourke, between Dry Bogan Road and Bogan River.
- The Cobb Highway remains closed between Booligal and Mossgiel, south of Ivanhoe.
- Kidman Way is still closed at Wallanthery.
Motorists travelling in flood-affected areas are advised to take extra care.
In addition to state managed roads, some local roads managed by councils may also be affected.
