Latrobe Council Celebrates 2023-24 Grant Recipients

Latrobe City Council celebrated successful applicants from Round Two of the 2023-24 Community Grants Program and Round Three and Four of the Quick Response Grants, at an awards ceremony on Wednesday 10 July 2024.

The awards ceremony was held at Kernot Hall and 60 community groups and organisations were recognised for their projects. Council provided a total of $313,513 in funding for Community Grants and $31,074 for Quick Response Grants.

Council's Community Grants Program provides funding for community initiatives, projects and events that support the local region. Those successful have positive social and economic benefits for the broader community and ensure that community, volunteer, and not-for-profit organisations have additional funds to support their projects.

Mayor of Latrobe City Council, Councillor Darren Howe, said Council is proud to provide financial support to a diverse range of community led projects that contribute to the overall wellbeing of our vibrant City.

"Community Grants funding enables individuals and organisations to make significant improvements, and cover various project-related costs, such as equipment, venue hire, promotional materials, and professional services," said the Mayor.

"The broad range of community initiatives across multiple categories reflects the diversity and creativity that exists in our community. We are proud to foster this innovation and provide an opportunity for community members to create impactful and meaningful change."

Deputy Mayor of Latrobe City Council, Councillor Tracie Lund, said Council is pleased to celebrate the community through its Community Grants program.

"The Community Grants presentation night was a wonderful opportunity to celebrate our community groups and recognise the value their projects provide more broadly to our community," said the Deputy Mayor.
