This national Science Week event is made possible through a partnership between Future Science Talks, the Wagga Wagga City Library, and Inspiring Australia NSW.
Future Science Talks brings comedy and science together for an event that will have you learning things even as you roll laughing in the aisles.
At this show you'll hear from Wagga's best and brightest science professionals.
Jess Hawker is talking about the structure of proteins made or co-opted by viruses – one of life's tiniest organisms and the cause of diseases such as COVID-19, herpes and chicken pox.
Jaishree Ravindran will present on new discoveries concerning lactoferrins, important components of our immune system that help us fight off bacterial and fungal infections.
Doaa Hanafy will discuss the search for treatments for Alzheimer's disease, an illness that affects up to one-in-ten Australians over the age of 65.
And Maddy Ray explains why we should give a quack about parasites infecting native ducks.
The show heralds National Science Week starting on Saturday 10 August, Australia's annual celebration of science, technology, engineering and mathematics.

The library will also celebrate National Science Week by hosting a special workshop on August 15. Local artist and educator Emily Shannon will lead the session, teaching participants how to create compostable sculptures of endangered tree-dwelling mammals.
The workshop is suitable for children aged 6-16, and places can be reserved by contacting the library during opening hours on 6926 9700 or by booking online.
