Launch of Schoolies road safety campaign

Assistant Commissioner Ben Marcus and RACQ spokesperson Lauren Ritchie will be available to speak to media this afternoon to launch the QPS Schoolies road safety campaign.

The campaign features Denzel, a 22-year-old, who last year made the decision to drive home after drinking at a party. Denzel crashed his car only minutes from his home. He sustained significant injuries, was in a coma for several weeks and has been on a long road to recovery since.

AC Marcus and Lauren Ritchie will speak about the piece launching later today and will be available to answer questions on road safety and the importance of reaching young people including Schoolies specifically around this time.
