I am pleased to announce that Mr Andrew Metcalfe AO will take on the role of lead reviewer of the Family Relationships Services Program (FRSP).
The FRSP supports separated or separating families working to resolve disputes without going to court and with a focus on the best interests of children. It currently assists around 150,000 people each year.
Mr Metcalfe will replace Mr Graeme Head AO who has recently been appointed as incoming Secretary of the New South Wales Department of Customer Service.
Mr Metcalfe has extensive Australian Government experience and I am confident the review is in excellent hands. He has worked across a wide range of public policy areas and has previously served as Secretary of the Department of Agriculture, Fisheries and Forestry and of the Department of Immigration and Multicultural Affairs.
The FRSP reviewer will continue to be supported by the Australian Institute of Family Studies and the project remains on track to be completed by 30 June 2024.
