Leadership Pathway Helps Grow Our Own

NSW Gov

Over four days in mid-June, more than 50 Southern nurses and midwives took part in face-to-face workshops to support their leadership development with a dedicated learning pathway.

The pathway has been specifically designed for our Nurse and Midwifery Unit Managers to build leadership and operational skills capability amongst current and emerging frontline leaders.

"Nursing and Midwifery Unit Managers play a pivotal role in shaping the healthcare experience for both patients and staff in their units, and the culture of Southern," said Elevate Lead Rowena Mitchell.

The pathway not only enhances their individual practices but also fosters a learning culture within their units that prioritises patient safety, quality care and staff well-being."

With ongoing monthly sessions supported by subject-matter experts, the pathway will help to build connections and expertise among emerging leaders in our District.
