Learner-driver dies in two-car crash in Glenorie

A learner-driver has died and her supervising driver is critically injured following a two-vehicle crash at Glenorie in Sydney’s north west, NSW Police say.

The crash happened about 4.50pm (Friday 27 April 2018), when a Suzuki Swift and Falcon sedan collided at the intersection of Old Northern Road and Cockatoo Place.

The teenage driver of the Swift died at the scene; her supervising driver, a man believed to be aged in his 50s, sustained multiple injuries and is reported to be in a critical condition at Royal North Shore Hospital.

The driver of the other vehicle is not believed to be seriously injured and has been taken to Westmead Hospital for mandatory testing.

Old Northern Road is blocked in both directions and is expected to be closed for some time.

Please avoid the area, there are no diversions.

Police are urging anyone with information in relation to this incident to call Crime Stoppers.
