Perth Detectives have charged five people following an armed robbery in Leederville on 19 May 2020.
It is alleged around 11.00pm, three people were approached by the group on Oxford Street in Leederville.
It is further alleged that the group became increasingly aggressive, punching the victims and demanding property. A member of the group allegedly pulled out a knife and threatened the victims.
Among the property taken was a Mercedes CLA Class sedan, which two of the offenders fled the scene in while the rest left on foot.
A short time later police officers attempted to stop the car. It will be alleged that the driver failed to stop and crashed into a house on Alexander Road, Rivervale.
The driver, a 29-year-old-man, and the 14-year-old passenger, both from Maddington, were arrested. Both are charged with Aggravated Armed Robbery and Steal Motor Vehicle and have been refused bail.
The man has also been charged with Aggravated Fail to Stop, Reckless Driving to Escape Pursuit, Dangerous Driving Causing Bodily Harm – in Circumstances of aggravation, Excess 0.08, and No Authority to Drive.
The driver of the vehicle is due to appear in Perth Magistrates Court on 20 May 2020, the passenger is due to appear at Perth Children's Court by bedside hearing on 20 May 2020 as she sustained injuries during the crash.
Three other members of the group were located at a train station near the initial incident. A 33-year-old man, a 31-year-old man, and a 15-year-old boy, all from Maddington, were arrested. All have been charged with Aggravated Armed Robbery and were refused bail.
The 33-year-old and 31-year-old men are due to appear in Perth Magistrates Court on 20 May 2020 with the 15-year-old due in Perth Children's Court on 20 May 2020.
