Environment Protection Authority Victoria's (EPA) work toward the remediation of the illegal waste dump site 15 kilometres south of Kaniva at Lemon Springs continues with consideration of tenderers to deliver the next stage of works.
"Remediation of a site this large and complex is expected to take some time and will happen in stages," said Julian Bull, EPA Project Manager.
"In the meantime, a hardstand has been created by local company McClure Earthmoving which will provide a firm working surface when we go to the next stage expected to be later this year," said Julian.
"Waste will be excavated during these next round of works, sampled and taken to an appropriately licensed facility for disposal."
Drone inspections using Ground Penetrating Radar and on ground inspections have now revealed up to 30 areas of interest on the 1,400 acre property.
