Librarian And Author Acknowledged: Bayside

Bayside Council's Youth Librarian, Samera Kamaleddine, was acknowledged at last night's Council Meeting for being shortlisted in the Children's Book Council Awards.

Samera is also an author and one of her books The Sideways Orbit of Evie Hart has been shortlisted for the Children's Book Council Awards - Book of the Year for Young Readers.

Samera's debut young adult novel Half My Luck was published after it won the Matilda Prize in 2020.

Both books are available in Bayside Libraries.

Our libraries play a valuable role in helping children to learn to read through Story Time programs and children's collections. They also offer programs and resources to support adult literacy and digital literacy. Library collections and programs also enable people of all ages to pursue formal and informal learning.
