This September, The Hills Shire Library Service is partnering with Western Sydney Local Health District (WSLHD) to promote health and activity throughout the Hills community.

Libraries across the Shire will host exciting activities, informative talks, and workshops for the whole family, inspiring and encouraging healthy habits throughout the Hills community. The month-long program tackles a range of common health challenges, such as tips on how to quit smoking and healthy recipe suggestions.

Mayor of The Hills Shire Council, Dr Peter Gangemi is calling residents to take full advantage of this opportunity to prioritise and improve their health.

"The Hills Shire Library's partnership with the Western Sydney Local Health District represents an exciting initiative aimed at creating a healthier future for the people of Sydney's west, including The Hills," Mayor Gangemi said.

"I urge all residents to seize this opportunity and engage in the diverse range of workshops and activities offered by The Hills Shire Library Service."

Throughout September, FREE events will be hosted across the different libraries of The Hills in collaboration with Western Sydney Local Health District, including:

  • Sydney Thunder Literacy Session at Dural Library on Wednesday, 11 September, beginning with stories in the library and cricket in the park
  • Health, Lifestyle and Dementia session at Baulkham Hills Library on Wednesday, 18 September with information on understanding the condition, reducing dementia risk, and listening to the experiences of those affected, followed by an opportunity to ask questions
